Adamawa Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage For LG Workers

Adamawa State government has approved a minimum wage of N70,000 for local government workers, demonstrating  efforts to increase the welfare of workers.

This was announced by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Iliya James, during a digital press briefing after a State Executive Council, SEC, meeting yesterday in Yola. 

At the meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, council  also reviewed the 2024 budget and expressed satisfaction that it attained 80 percent performance, in contrast against  56 percent in 2023.

The Commissioner for Finance and Budget, Mrs Augustina Wandamiya and her colleague at the Bureau of Budget, Mr Emanuel Pridimso, explained that the focus was mainly on the redeployment of surpluses and closing balances of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, to ensure the effective closure of the financial year.

According to Pridimso, the state had been able  to make impactful developmental progress and induce transparency in governance through efficient management of finances and discipline in budget markets.
