In a bid to enhance routine immunization and promote better health outcomes for children,
the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, launched the New Incentive-All Babies Are Equal Program (Livelihood Grant) in Argungu.
The program, aimed at encouraging vaccination uptake through cash incentives, is a collaborative effort between the state government, State Ministries of Health, and State Primary Health Care Development Agencies.
During the event, Senator Umar stressed the importance of parents’ commitment to the success of the immunization exercise and affirmed the state government’s dedication to supporting the program and all healthcare-related initiatives in the state.
He urged mothers and caregivers to prioritize routine immunization for their children to ensure optimal health outcomes.
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera, commended the state government for its commitment to healthcare delivery and applauded the inception of the New Incentive program.
He called on well-to-do individuals to support the initiative in the fight against communicable diseases.
National Stakeholders Relations Director, Nura Muhammad, highlighted the significance of the All Babies Are Equal initiative in providing cash incentives for routine childhood vaccinations in northern Nigeria.
The program, operating across several states, aims to increase immunization rates and support caregivers financially.
The occasion was marked by the flag-off of the Livelihood Grant, alongside messages of goodwill from development partners and a captivating drama presentation by the Kebbi Cultural Troupe.
The event served as a testament to the collective efforts towards improving healthcare delivery and promoting immunization in Kebbi State.
