FROM RAHILA ABDULLAHI, KADUNA
Kaduna State Legislative Service Commission has urged its staff to embrace teamwork, professionalism and excellence in their work.
Chairman of the commission, Nuhu Goroh made the call during a training workshop for staff of Kaduna State House of Assembly ahead of their 2024/2025 promotion programme.
“Your roles are crucial in supporting the legislative process and ensuring the effective functioning of the House.
“The promotion we celebrate today is a good testament to your individual and collective efforts, I encourage you to continue striving for excellence,” he said.
Goroh urged them to continue developing their skills and be open to new ideas that would enhance their performance and contribute to the success of the House.
He commended Governor Uba Sani and Speaker Dahiru Liman for their support, stating that such exercise would bolster the capacity of staff.
Speaking, the Director of Promotions, Christopher Yunana stated that the training was the first of its kind, which had changed the promotion process done in the past.
He explained that the staff would be trained on four courses; which include financial instruction, legislative and administrative procedures and store management.
“We usually sit for the examination without any training, but now we train and give them lecture notes to study for a week or two before sitting for the examination, then go for interview.
“Promotion is the highest form of motivation in the civil service. Every civil servant wherever you work, the greatest thing they can do for you is promotion,” Yunana said.
