AGILE Project Sets Stage For Girls Education In Gombe

Staff of  Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, Project in Gombe State have been commended for their commitment to Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s policies aimed at transforming the education sector.

 Commissioner for Education, Professor Aishatu Maigari gave the commendation during her official visit to the project office in Gombe.

She acknowledged the significant role of the AGILE Project in advancing the governor’s agenda, particularly his efforts in addressing gender disparities in education.

Maigari noted that the state’s involvement in the AGILE Project was inspired by Governor Yahaya’s vision and political will to fulfil his campaign promises of improving access to education.

“The AGILE Project represents a pivotal step in ensuring that adolescent girls in Gombe State not only enroll in school, but also complete their secondary education.

“This initiative is critical to building a better future for our youths and align with global efforts to empower girls through education,” she said.

As the chairperson of the project’s steering committee, Professor Maigari pledged the state government’s full support toward the successful implementation of the initiative.

She emphasised the importance of collaboration and urged the project team to maintain their dedication to the cause.

Earlier, the Gombe State Coordinator of the AGILE Project, Dr Amina  Abdul highlighted the dedication of the project team in implementing programmes designed to enhance the quality of education for adolescent girls.

She also assured the commissioner of the loyalty and support of the AGILE staff in implementing policies that align with Governor Yahaya’s vision for education.
