Date:

A 38-year-old female journalist in Bauchi State, Hafsat Abdulhamid Adebayo, is appealing for financial assistance to undergo a brain tumor surgery.

Hafsat, who has been bedridden for the last four years, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) after several efforts at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi.

According to her elder sister, Aishat Abdulhamid said that Hafsat’s sickness started four years ago.

“She has really suffered a lot; we have spent all our savings; friends, family and colleagues have really tried. She had a surgery last year with the intervention of the Bauchi State Government where the tumor was evacuated and was recovering at home.

“We are currently at the JUTH. We were told that she has to undergo another emergency surgery. As we speak, for more than a week, she cannot eat, talk and walk. The consultant told us that she will have the operation this week.

“We appeal to Nigerians to assist us, may God bless.”
