The family of renowned Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has expressed deep concern over his sudden disappearance.
In a petition dated February 7, 2025, and addressed to the Department of State Services (DSS), the family’s legal representative, Wilson Anuge, stated that 2Baba was last seen on February 10, 2025. He reportedly left his residence in his loungewear, presumably for his routine morning walk, but did not return.
The petition highlights that it is uncharacteristic of 2Baba to be out of contact for such an extended period. Efforts by family members, close friends, and his record label to reach him have been unsuccessful.
Adding to their concern, several associates have received messages from his social media accounts requesting financial assistance—a behavior deemed unusual for the financially stable artist.
Given these unsettling circumstances, the Idibia family is urging the DSS to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain 2Baba’s whereabouts and ensure his safety. They fear that his identity may have been compromised and that he could be under duress, leading to the atypical communications observed.
This development follows recent media attention surrounding 2Baba’s personal life, including reports of a public proposal to Natasha Osawaru, a 31-year-old lawmaker from Edo State. His mother, Rose Idibia, has publicly expressed concerns, suggesting that her son is not acting in his right senses and pleading for his release.
As the situation unfolds, fans and well-wishers are anxiously awaiting positive news regarding the artist’s safety.
