Ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has promised its elected governors of automatic tickets in the 2027 general elections.
National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje made this known at the weekend during the North West zonal stakeholders meeting in Kaduna.
The pronouncement for the automatic ticket for all APC governors in their respective states came when the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas made a request that the party should give all lawmakers under the APC at the National Assembly the opportunity to be the sole candidate(s) of the party come 2027.
According to the speaker, “Anyone who starts a system may not be able to master it well, to be able to deliver well, but if you give him another opportunity, he will become an effective administrator, and in the light of this, I want to make an appeal on behalf of the members of the National Assembly that continuity will give us a better and more effective representation come 2027.
“We support each and every governor for a second term, and we are praying and hoping that Mr President will continue to be our president come 2027.
“We are not only praying for them because we want them to continue, but because we believe that with continuity, they will become better in governance.”
Meanwhile, Ganduje has described APC as a political institution that has transformed the country beyond reasonable doubt.
