Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has presented the 2025 budget of N320.811,000 to the House of Assembly.
N176, 964,213,000, representing 55.1 percent of the budget, was allocated to capital expenditure, while N144,036,787,000, representing 44.9 percent, is for recurrent expenditure.
According to the governor, the increased allocation is necessary to sustain growth and complete ongoing projects across Yobe State.
The governor noted that the N320.811billion budget was the voice of the people and a product of wide range of consultations.
Buni said he would focus on ensuring food security, wealth creation, welfare of the people and economic management of the state.
He added that government has made adequate provisions for the new minimum wage for workers.
Speaking to AljazirahNigeria after presenting the budget, Speaker Chiroma Mashio commended the governor for strengthening the cordial working relationship with the legislature and the prompt attention given to the bills and House resolutions that were passed and transmitted to the executive.
He added that the content of the budget would enhance the overall development of the state.
Mashio also lauded the administration for its achievements, especially the regular payment of salaries and gratuities to retired civil servants.
AljazirahNigeria learnt that education, healthcare delivery, roads, women and youth empowerment received priority attention in the budget estimate.
