2025: CSO admonishes youths to shun crime, embrace agriculture 2025

A Civil Society Organization (CSO), under the aegis of Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) has advised Nigerian youths to shun crime but embrace agriculture for self sufficiency in 2025.

Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President of the CSO, gave the advice in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Sunday.

Nnam said that agricultural transformation has capacity of securing national food security and establishing thriving exports for Nigeria like countries of Israel and Holland.

He frowned at the uncontrollable degree of emigration by Nigerian youths to foreign countries for menial and servile jobs.

“The mad rush into foreign countries for menial jobs should stopped, we just need to look inwards and utilize our God given land through agriculture.

“Nigeria is a blessed country with vast land and water essential for agricultural productivity, so 2025 is a year to utilize this gift instead of embarking on ungodly ventures, ” he said.

The ILDC boss who scored President Bola Tinubu high in economic transformation, urged him to improve on the area of food security.

He identified a coalition between the government and the followers through agricultural vocation as the only way out of hunger.

Nnam saluted Tinubu’s economic policies, which he said are long term policies aimed at benefitting the country at the long run.

According to him, we are not where we are supposed to be but we are at least making progress.

Nnam reiterated his confidence in President Tinubu’s economic policies, urging Nigerians to support him.

The ILDC President commended President Tinubu for engendering local governments’ autonomy in accordance with the principles of federalism.

“I must thank President Tinubu for making local governments’ financially autonomous so that they can drive development at the grassroots.

“Government now is brought very close to the local people who now have the right to hold their chairmen and councillors accountable.”

He affirmed the commitment of his CSO to partner with governments at all levels to promote agriculture.
