2023 UTME: Over  90,000 Candidates Registered So Far – JAMB

A total of 92,490 candidates have so far registered for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) which is organized annually by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Recall that the sale of the 2023 UTME application documents commenced on Saturday, January 14, 2023 and will end on Tuesday  February 14, 2023.

JAMB in its recently Weekly Bulletin also revealed that Lagos  State so far has the highest candidates with 10,974 followed by Kaduna State with 9,443 candidates and the Federal Capital Territory with 9,157 candidates.

Meanwhile, JAMB in a statement has stated that as part of its measures to enhance the sanctity of the examination, it would not allow any examination to take place one hour after the scheduled commencement.

It stated that the affected session should be on grounds of technical challenges  adding that only that will the Board   reschedule for other available sessions.

It added that the affected candidates would wait at their centers to receive official communication from the Board’s headquarters, Abuja as to when their lost session would be rescheduled.

“Candidates would be notified of their new scheduled center before they leave the examination center.  Futhermore, no candidate is allowed to spend less than an hour before submission during his/her examination.

The Board also stated that it observed that  late commencement of examination or early departure from the examination  could jeopardize the conduct of the examination by giving some candidates undue advantage over their contemporaries taking the examination.

The Board stated that the new advisories are to ensure that a level playing field for all candidates taking the examination.
