2023 Trial Census: NPC Engages 99 Enumerators, Supervisors In Gombe

The National Population Commission in Gombe has engaged 99 field functionaries including enumerators and supervisors that will conduct the trial census for the 2023 population and housing census.

The federal commissioner of the commission in charge of Gombe state Abubakar Muhammad Danburam, made this known yesterday while addressing journalists on the commencement of the trial census.

Danburan, said the objectives is to assess the quality and the usefulness of the Enumeratorion Area EA maps that had been created.

He added that the selection of samples from all states of the federation and FCT is expected to yeild nation wide information on state specific issues that may arise for the next census and come up with possible solution for addressing these challenges.

He also said the Data generated during the trial census will not be used to arrive at figure for the 2023 census.

Accordong to him in Gombe state they ware train 99 field functionaries which comprises of 90 enumerators, nine supervisors and six facilitators respectively.

He used the medium to call on key stakeholders, especially state and local government’s, council and traditional institutions in the selected LGA’s to extend support and assistance to the functionaries assigned to work within their domain.

Danburam, said the trial census is a test case for the Commission which we hope to pass with resounding success.
