2023: NANS Cautions Youths Against Thuggery, Votes Selling

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kaduna Axis, has cautioned youths not to allow themselves to be used for thuggery during the forthcoming elections.
NANS made the call during a sensitization walk in Kaduna recently, where it disclosed that the Association had earlier embarked on a school-to-school campaigns, creating awareness amongst students to desist from being used as negative agents during the elections.
Kaduna Chairman of the students union, Faith Istifanus, while speaking shortly after the sensitisation walk, urged youths to vote wisely, and as well vote candidates of their choice without intimidation.
Also speaking, a student representative, Abdullahi Aliyu, enjoined students to come out and vote peacefully during the coming elections, adding, “You all have the right to vote whom you want.
“Election is a not war, that is why we embaked on several sensitization programmes, so that people, especially the students can vote candidates of their choice that are capable of moving the nation forward.
“We have seen so much in the past four years, many of our coursemates have dropped out of school due to the hardship. Some even find it difficult to get transportation to schools, hence, the need for students come out to vote whom they feel would listen to them and protect their interest for a brighter future.”
The representative of ATBU, Bauchi students, Ahmad Muhammad also advised youths not to sell their votes for any reason that is detrimental to their future.
