100 Days: CSO Hails A’Ibom LG Chairman Over Projects Execution

In line with the financial autonomy to the 774 local government areas by the Federal Government, a Civil Society Organisation, CSO, committed to due diligence and transparency in financial management has begun a tour across the 31 LGAs in Akwa Ibom State.

The Centre for Human Rights and Accountability Network, CHRAN, in collaboration with a coalition of other CSOs explained in a press conference in Uyo, the state capital explained that the tour became necessary to verify projects executed within their first 100 days in office and  inauguration in October 7, 2024.

The leader of the delegation, Otuekong Franklin Isong, Director of CHRAN, explained that “this exercise is in furtherance of CHRAN’s avowed commitment to deepening democracy at the grassroots level and ensuring good governance at the third tier of government”.

Our Correspondent learnt that the tour, which began with a visit to Etim Ekpo Council, had the CHRAN team received by the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Gideon Uwah, who conducted them around projects executed under his watch in the last one year.
