Oyo lawmaker backs 3SC Academy, offers scholarships to 20 pupils

By Taofeek Lawal, Abuja

A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Ademola Ige has said the return of Shooting Stars to elites division as a must, calling on all and sundry to rally round the club in their difficult times.
The lawmaker representing Ibadan South/East Constituency 2 made the call while flagging off a soccer tournament organized by National Association of Primary School Games Teacher (NAPGAST) for public primary schools in whole Ibadan South/East which held on the turf of Wesley College Elekuro Ibadan,
Ige thumbed up the management of 3SC for coming up with the idea of establishing a standard Football Academy and announced a full scholarship for 20 public primary school pupils that distinguished themselves in the tourney into newly established 3SC Football Academy.
He said, “This is where and how we started to play football, but we don’t get any encouragement from any quarter to help us pursue a career in football. The idea of 3SC Academy is a commendable one and part of efforts to revamp the traditional club sides, we should all join hands to reposition Shooting Star to restore its lost glories. This arena was where the likes of Dele Ajiboye, Ganiyu Oseni, Demola Kudaisi and much more are discovered. This is another process to fish out the next generation of soccer stars.”
