NSCDC requests 10,000 additional personnel to boost operations – CG

The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Abdullahi Muhammadu, said the corps had requested for additional 10,000 personnel from the Federal Government to boost its operations.

Muhammadu said if granted, the additional manpower would enhance the Corps’ activities across the country.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, ACC Emmanuel Okeh.

Okehsaid the commandant-general disclosed this during the decoration of promoted Officers of the Corps, (ACGs) at the Civil Defence Academy, Sauka, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Muhammadu, however, advised Applicants to be wary of fraudsters who would want to deceive them to pay money for recruitment.

“The Corps, for now, is neither recruiting nor doing replacement as it is rumoured in different quarters,” he said.

Gana, then, urged officers and men of the Corps to be patient and tolerant in all their official conducts, as well as in all spheres of life.

” As it is our lot to defend the defenceless, we owe it a duty to be very civil when dealing with the civil populace, always, ” Muhammadu said.

He said officers and men of the Corps had performed very well in 2016 and urged them to do better in 2017.
