Multiple explosions rock Maiduguri as 3 suicide bombers die in failed attack

Three suicide bombers have died after a failed attempt to bomb an internally displaced persons camp in Maiduguri earlier today.

Confirming the incident, the Borno state commissioner for police, Damian Chukwu also revealed that 3 petrol tankers caught fire during the incident.

It was learnt that the bombers attacked the petrol tankers which were parked near a filling station around 3 am on Friday morning. The first explosion took place after the first suicide bomber detonated his vest.

The other two detonated theirs along Damboa road in Maiduguri with the sole purpose of claiming the lives of several other people at a nearby IDP camp.
