Dozens Missing, Houses Razed Hours After Buhari’s Visited Nasarawa

Dozens Missing, Houses Razed Hours After Buhari’s Visited Nasarawa
By Gaade Puun, Lafia
At least 14 persons have been declared missing at three Tiv villages hours after the state visit on Tuesday by president Muhammadu Buhari to Nasarawa state.
Aljazirah Nigeria reliably gathered that the villages burnt were Itse Adzer, Mbatsav, Mbagwa, and Dooka located in Keana, Obi and Ekkye local councils respectively.
A source,  Mr. Vincent Ayange, who called from his hideout in the Bush on Tuesday night, said the whereabouts of 5 of his relations are still unknown.
Ayange told Aljazirah that the attacker’s were heavily armed with weapons and fuel thus making it easier to burn down anything worth razing.
“They came in in their hundreds, shoot sporadically but none could withstand to know the casualty “
“My wife, children and other Kinsmen are yet to be traced as we talk. No phone is going hours after I escaped. ” Ayange said.
Hundreds were seen trekking long distances from Ibuan,  Apulugh, Kwashir and Itse Adzer where herdsmen struck earlier.
A young mother was sighted by a cameraman,  trekking hundreds of kilometres to Obi from attacked areas with bared footed. She carried a six months old baby while those within ages 4, 6, and 7 were trekking.
The latest attacks on Tim villages came barely a few hours after president Buhari rounded off his one day state visit to Nasarawa state. Most of the villages are located within 50 kilometres radius to Lafia where about 8 projects including a cargo airport, a special school and health centre were commissioned.
