BREAKING- False asset charges: CCT acquits, discharges Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has been acquitted and discharged by the Code of Conduct Tribunal headed by Justice Danladi Umar, Aljazirah Nigeria has gathered.

The CCT let off Bukola Saraki, who has been standing trial over allegations of false assets declaration.

The trial had caught public attention for several months with no headway despite several postponements. Saraki had always maintained his innocence.

The Tribunal in its ruling said the decision was based on the unreliability of the evidence of the principal witness in the case.
