Benue Massacre: Gov Ortom To Brief Senate On Killings

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State is currently at the red chambers of the National Assembly to brief the lawmakers on the killings in his State.

In the opening address of the Chairman Senate Committee on Police Affairs
, Senator Abu Ibrahim said the Senate has invited the Committee in
furtherance of the National Assembly’s intelligence gathering attempt
geared towards finding lasting solution to the killings in Benue.

However, Journalists were asked to leave the room when Governor Ortom was about speaking.

The act is not unconnected with the Committee Chairman’s accusation of the Media of sensationalism and over-blowing of the Benue Saga, hence the reason for the media blackout.
