162 petitions flood APC secretariat over APC controversial primaries in Anambra

By Gbenga Odunsi, Abuja

A coalition of civil society groups has petitioned the National Security Adviser and the All Progressives Congress, APC secretariat over the newly elected gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the just concluded primary elections in Anambra, AljazirahNigeria has learnt.

In a letter addressed to the National Security Adviser which AljazirahNigeria exclusively obtained, the group disclosed that Tony Nwoye had entered an unholy alliance with his godfather, Chief Arthur Eze to mortgage the future of Anambra the state if he wins.

The group further revealed that a huge sum of money that was transacted to one of Tony Nwoye’s bank account in the week of the primary elections, adding that the money was meant to prosecute the Primary elections in Nwoye’s favour.

“Sir, it might surprise you that the said Billionaire had entered into a written agreement with Tony Nwoye to fund his campaign to the tune of Five Hundred Million Naira in exchange for  30 per cent of the state internally generated revenue  and slot for 20 commissioners  in his cabinet if elected as Governor of the State in the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in the State, an allegation that deserve thorough investigation as the said sum is in great disparity with the provisions of the amended 2015 electoral act which is still in force.

A document in the petitions showed details of how Tony Nwoye reportedly signed an agreement to cede 30% of Anambra state’s Internally Generated Revenue to Chief Arthur Eze.

The document also indicated that there was an agreement for Prince Eze to nominate 10 commissioners, including choice ministries, such as Finance, Attorney-General, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the cabinet of Nwoye.

The document further revealed that should Nwoye emerges Governor, Chief Eze would have the absolute powers to run the affairs of the state with the Governor acting as a mere figurehead.

In his defense, Nwoye denied signing such agreement describing the document as fake and handiwork of criminals.

Taking to his Twitter handle @tony_nwoye, he wrote in a series of tweets

“I am not surprised to see a very fake document emanating from the panicking aspirant whose major problem is myself.”

“Without much talking. FACTS ARE SACRED. Pls kindly observe the two following documents and make your own decisions.”

“One is surely fake while the other is real. PLS CHOOSE ONE.

In a similar development, the controversial billionaire and Chairman of Atlas Oranto Petroleum, Chief Arthur Eze has disassociated himself from the said agreement, describing the document as “fake” and “handiwork of criminals”.

Eze further stated that he never entered any agreement with anybody, revealing that he had reported the case to the police in Anambra and investigation is ongoing.

In the petition, the group alleged high rate of anti-party activities by some APC leaders of Anambra that should be investigated.

Eze was also alleged to be involved in Sambo Dasuki and Diezani Allison Madueke loots.

They stated further that Nwoye’s men in his PDP days are in the incumbent’s kitchen cabinet and that some Governor Obiano’s group members are found around him to ensure the judicious use of all funds made available by him.

The group urged the National Security Adviser to set up a panel of inquiry to investigate the elections, and that the results of the primaries election that in Anambra APC be declared null and void for a fresh election to hold.
